"We are from North Darfur State, Kabkabiya locality. My sister Raja and I were studying at Nyala University when the war began.
(...) The Rapid Support Forces attacked us in the student dormitory, so we left and returned home to Kabkabiya. When we arrived, we found that a shell had hit our house, and everyone had left. Our mother, father, siblings, and entire family were gone. It was just my sister and me. We left Kabkabiya and headed here because we heard our family might be in Kiryandongo camp. Along the way, we worked wherever we could to collect some money for bus tickets to reach the next town. We faced many hardships on the road before finally arriving here at the camp in Kiryandongo about two weeks ago. When we got here, we couldn’t find our family. We were alone, with no shelter or anything. Amani found us and brought us to her home, where she gave us a place to stay with her.”
