Portfolio - The Black Okies

Matt Black

The Black Okies are a forgotten group of cotton migrants who came to California’s Central Valley following the Dust Bowl. Unlike their white counterparts, whose migration was chronicled in John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath, the story of these migrants went largely untold.
