To celebrate Reda’s 150th birthday, the luxury Italian wool manufacturer wished to document the different facets of its industry. To do so, they commissioned Magnum photographers Olivia Arthur, Alex Majoli, Paolo Pellegrin, Gueorgui Pinkhassov and Mark Power. Each photographer focused on one of the many aspects of such a unique entity and utilized their own approach and sentiment to their images.
The resulting collections explore the farms and landscapes of Australia and New Zealand, the interaction between the human hand and the machine during industrial wool processing in Italy, the business strategies needed to secure a prime position in the international fabric market and lastly the individuals who make up Reda’s identity.
The photographs were showcased in a traveling exhibition and also published in a book that was launched simultaneously.
