They symbolise peace and freedom and, he says, 'May the flock of doves grow, from place to place, from country to country, and across all borders. Peace, freedom and sustainability in a world of change and disturbance are the key themes of my installations'. Here, the doves fly above the tomb of Robert, Lord Hungerford, 2nd Baron Hungerford (1409–1459), the eldest surviving son of Walter Hungerford, 1st Baron Hungerford who served in the Hundred Years' War, and was summoned to parliament as Baron Hungerford from 5 September, 1450, to 26 May, 1455.
