Join us for a street photography workshop led by Richard Kalvar in his native New York City.

Work with a master street photographer to develop the mindset needed to make images on the streets. Learn about framing and composition, and how to navigate crowds and find a picture, all the while gaining an invaluable insight into creating your own unique photographic voice.

During the five-day workshop, you will work alongside Richard Kalvar to create a personal photographic response to the city. You will then participate in group review sessions and explore the power of editing to create a meaningful selection of work.

New York, my hometown, is a great place for street photography. Things are always going on; there’s never a dull moment. And while it’s not always easy for a photographer to remain unnoticed anywhere in the world, New Yorkers are pretty blasé. They’ve seen a lot of photographers! My street photography is grounded in real people doing real things, and my observing them, reacting to them and trying to squeeze them into a rectangle. — Richard Kalvar

Thank you so much once again for coordinating such an amazing learning opportunity. The workshop and Richard’s teaching have completely changed my way of seeing, to say the least.” —Feedback from a workshop participant of the Street Photography workshop with Richard Kalvar in Sirmione, Italy.
