Workshops

Aimed at photographers with a good understanding of photographic practice, Magnum photographers lead intimate groups of participants through an on-site program of shooting, assignments, portfolio reviews, group critiques, mentoring, editing, and the opportunity to learn among peers and experts from the industry.

Visual literacy workshops

Drawing from Magnum’s decades-long experience of documenting the world through photography, our visual literacy programs offer the possibility for a younger audience to critically engage with the medium.

They can be organized around a photography residency led by a Magnum photographer, or use the extensive Magnum archive of more than a million images to explore themes, interrogate the documentation of a historical event, or simply discover more about a place and its people.

Emerging talent programs

Working with funding bodies such as the British Council, Creative Europe, or brands such as Fujifilm or Polaroid, Magnum Photos is committed to offering free programs designed to equip creative talents with the knowledge, skills, and network to progress in their careers. The various bursary programs lead to exhibitions, books, or the creation of new work.

Magnum’s online program offers three key experiences: the Seminar Series, Workshop Series, and Individual Mentorship.

The Seminar Series brings together carefully curated events that explore essential topics. For those seeking a hands-on approach, the Workshop Series dives deeper, guiding participants through every stage of creating meaningful photography projects. Our Mentorship Program offers opportunities to learn from renowned Magnum photographers through dynamic and interactive online sessions.
