Getting to know the sea and preserving it, stepping aside in front of the grandeur of the oceans, finding our amniotic link with the elements and letting ourselves be carried away by this blue and all-consuming passion! Artists, scientists, navigators, explorers, political decision-makers debate, create and meet for three months at Châteauvallon and in the city of Toulon.
The Maison de la Photographie in Toulon joins the scène nationale Châteauvallon-Liberté to explore the Théma “Passion Bleue” by inviting the photographers Trent Park & Martin Parr.
The exhibition Sea & Sun will display “The seventh wave”, Parke’s deep dive into the Australian psyche taking us under water and into mankind’s relationship with nature, and “Life’s a beach”, Parr’s seaside work demonstrating his engagement with a cherished subject matter where all absurdities and quirky national behaviours seamlessly fuse together.
