Magnum Photos is very proud to offer a scholarship opportunity for a photographer to join our upcoming In focus: Shape your photographic practice with Matt Black taking place in New York between April 7–11, 2025.
The successful applicant will be chosen based on needs, the quality of the work submitted and the ability to demonstrate how this course will benefit their career.

Eligibility
Applications are open to photographers with a household income of $50K or less.
We encourage applications from those who are underrepresented in the photography industry including women (female-identifying), people from lower socio-income backgrounds, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC and those from ethnic minority backgrounds. We also welcome applicants from a range of educational backgrounds and therefore do not require a minimum formal qualification.
Required materials
– One PDF file including 1 or 2 photo stories with no more than 30 images in total
– A Statement of Purpose explaining why you are applying and how this opportunity will benefit your practice
Applications are free and do not include any fees.
