Description

Join us for a five-week online photography workshop with Jacob Aue Sobol. This workshop is designed to inspire and nurture your ability to develop a distinctive voice within photography.

How do you create a personal expression? What does it take to stand out as a photographer? How and when do we reveal ourselves through the images we capture?

The goal is to create photographs with visual distinction—images that are deeply connected to your personality. When looking at your work, viewers should not only recognize your subject but also sense who you are as the author.

A powerful photograph doesn’t just represent the person or place it depicts; it evokes a deeper reflection in the viewer, inviting them to consider their own existence. By establishing intimacy, humanity, and presence in your work, your images become a reflection of your own relationship with the world. The camera becomes a tool to bring order, to understand, and to communicate with your surroundings.

The more you invest in yourself—the more vulnerable and open you are—whether photographing a loved one or a stranger, the more your pictures will embody your unique vision. This authenticity is fundamental in developing a personal photographic expression.
