Ksenia Kuleshova (The Everyday Projects) Making a snowman in Sukhum. It had been almost 8 years since the last big snowfall. Sukhum, Abkhazia (autonomous region in northwest Georgia). January 3, 2016.
“My precious childhood memories are (...)
about snow and huge snow drifts. When I saw this scene I was blown away by nostalgia — everybody was outside making a snowman, playing with snowballs, or just walking through the snow. So many happy people in one place, enjoying this rare moment. This was the very beginning of a long-term project in Abkhazia, the small stripe of land between the sea and mighty mountains of the Caucasus. Now, each time I am back in Abkhazia, I still have a sense of joy among the people living in this time capsule.”
