Libya, 2015
Lorenzo Meloni documents the war-torn country of Libya in 2015 following its second civil war
In spring of 2015, Lorenzo Meloni travelled to Libya, a country torn by growing political instabilities, the consequences of its second civil war. He reports unspeakable acts of violence and documents the ongoing battle to eradicate Islamic State while two governments confront each other via armed militias.
This work is a continuation of Meloni’s preoccupation with the ever-present threat of terrorism and its effects on fighters and civilian bystanders alike. He also deals with the fate of thousands of migrants, captured, imprisoned and used as political leverage.
